Nur Party rejected Friday the President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi call for the formation of a unified electoral list to promote partisan effective presence in the upcoming parliament. Head of Al-Nur Party, Younes Makhioun announced that his party is considered to be one of the strongest parties in terms of reaching people in the Egyptian society, stressing that the party has developed a specific strategy to take into account the country's interests. Al-Nur spokesman, Nader Bakkar said that his party didn't favor the establishment of a unified list in the next parliament, adding that the party prefers a competitive election which will be better for the electoral process. Last week, President Al-Sisi had met with the heads of Egyptian political parties at the presidential palace to discuss the current political situation and the upcoming Parliamentary elections next March, urging them to form a unified list.
