Youm7 reported Monday that Cairo Criminal Court has agreed to hear the appeal of former President Hosni Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, in what is known in Egyptian media as the "presidential palaces" case. In May 2014, Mubarak was sentenced to three years in prison while his sons were sentenced to serve four years for embezzling EGP 125 million for presidential residences. The Mubarak family was also ordered to return EGP 21 million and was fined approximately EGP 125 million for the embezzlement. In November 2014, Mubarak, his sons, former interior minister Habib Al Adly and six Adly's assistants were found not guilty of killing protestors in January 25, 2011.
