A large British trade delegation led by UK minister of state for the Middle East Tobias Ellwood arrives in Cairo Monday to discuss reinforcing economic ties and investment between the two countries. Ellwood's visit to Egypt, scheduled to last until January 16, is the first official one since he has been appointed as the new Middle East Minister at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in David Cameron's government July 2014. Ellwood will meet with a number of Egyptian ministers and officials in addition to high profile Egyptian businessmen. Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had already met Ellwood during his short visit to London in October 2014. Shoukry stressed on the importance of British participation in next March's economic conference which aims to bolster foreign investment in Egypt.
