Egypt's FM Sameh Shoukry will participate in a major silent demonstration held in France Sunday to commemorate the victims of this week's terrorist attacks, according to state-owned news agency MENA. FM spokesperson Badr Abdelatty, said that Shoukry's participation in the protest is to reflect Egypt's solidarity with the victims' families and its condemnation of the terrorist attacks that took place in France. Abdelatty stressed on the fact that these extremist attacks have nothing to do with Islam, noting that Egypt too has been suffering from terrorism which claimed the lives of dozens of innocent Egyptians. During a televised speech to the French nation, President Francois Hollande called for a major rally that will take place on the streets of Paris, in the presence of most European leaders. Dozens of foreign leaders are also expected to attend, including UK Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Israel's Netanyahu. The huge marches will depart from Paris's Place de la Republique. Seventeen people were killed in separate attacks on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, a metro station in the north of France and a kosher supermarket, 35km north of Paris.
