One Militant killed, 30 arrested in Sinai

Military spokesperson Brigadier Mohammed Samir said one militant was killed and 30 arrested in military operations on January 1st and 2nd in Sheikh Zuwaid, North Sinai.
Three vehicles and 10 unlicensed motorcycles used in attacks against security forces were also confiscated in the same operations.
Samir added that security forces had foiled an attack on a military check point in Sinai.
Two militants were killed in a gunfire exchange following an escape attempt from the checkpoint.
Military personnel were deployed in the area and tight security measures applied to restore security.
