President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi issued a presidential decree dismissing former attorney general Talaat Abdallah and 8 other judges, according to the Egyptian official newspaper on Thursday. Counselor Abdallah was appointed in his last position by former president Mohamed Morsi in November 2012, before the Cassation Court dismissed Abdallah from his position in July 2013. Abdallah was referred to the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Judges over charges of planting surveillance cameras and spying devices at the attorney general's office. The board decided in Sep. 22 to dismiss Abdallah from judiciary referring him to the early pension according to the Constitution and the Judicial Authority Law. One of the other dismissed judges is Ahmed Yahya, head of the Cairo Appeals Court, who was previously charged with taking part in the Rabaa al-Adaweya sit-in following the ouster of Morsi.
