"Senior Egyptian police officers were acquitted, and other parties were held responsible the thugs, Muslim Brotherhood militias, Hamas and Hizbullah. That is why I have stated that the security agencies do not merely make history but they rather re-write it." Egyptian writer Fahmi Hewidi. The writer criticises in his column in the daily Al-Shorouk the recent acquittal of senior police officers, who faced charges of killing protesters. He believes such verdicts are politically motivated as there is hard evidence that those officers are responsible for the killings.
