ALL OF Egypt's four participating teams in African football club championships did well on the road, reports Abeer Anwar Two wins and two draws, all on enemy territory, were the accumulative results of Egypt's four representatives at the start of Africa's two biggest football club tournaments. In the Champions League, Zamalek achieved what they have been unable to produce in the national league -- a rare win, this against Tusker of Kenya in the first leg match in Nairobi on Saturday. Striker Abdel-Halim Ali scored the lone goal in the 73rd minute. In the same championship, Ahli did not fare as well but still managed to draw away 0-0 against SC Villa of Uganda on Friday. Goalkeeper Denis Onyango kept SC Villa's chances of qualifying for the next round alive with numerous saves to deny the Egyptians an away win. Mohamed Abu Treika, Emad Miteb and Mohamed Shawki all came close for Ahli. "The players did their best and I am sure they will be able to win in Cairo," Ahli's assistant coach Hossam El-Badri said. In the Confederation Cup, Ismaili came away 1-0 winners against Mozambique Ferroviario de Maputo in Mozambique in the first leg. Mohamed Mohsen Abu Greisha scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 13th minute. In the same event, the Arab Contractors, a second- division squad, drew 0-0 on the road with Ethiopian Bank of Ethiopia in the first leg.
