Thurs 19, 1pm: The Cairo Contemporary Music Days 2018 presents “Into Live Electronics”, an introduction to live electronic music by Arne Vierck, collaboration with Centre of Arts, AUC. Between 2000 and 2003 Arne was active as creator and composer of live electronic composition and particularly of Ballet Music. Since 2007 Arne is a very active sound engineer, producer of several music genres and specialized in implementation and realisation of contemporary compositions that involve live electronic music with leading ensembles and festivals.

Sat 21, 8pm: The Cairo Contemporary Music Days 2018 presents Ensemble Mosaik. As a particularly diverse and experimental formation, Ensemble Mosaik has developed into a renowned ensemble for contemporary music since its founding in 1997. Its members are not just characterized by their instrumental skills, but also by their creative individuality and willingness to experiment. It features among others Saber Abdel-Sattar (qannun), Gregory d'Hoop (oud, darbuka, flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, and percussion), Bushra El-Turk (cello).

Thursday 19 April: The 14th annual season of El Genaina Theatre features Arab and Egyptian bands such as Yuma – Debut. Yuma is a young Tunisian band that gained wide popularity, in a relatively short time. They won the Audience Award during 2017 round of Journées Musicales de Carthage. The band is composed of Sabrine Jenhani and Ramy Zoghlami.
