“Co-Existence” exhibition is an artistic attempt to expose different aspects of complicated relations between the individual and the surroundings. Ideologies, religions, and mass media have great impact on these relations, one that can be beneficial but also destructive. It is coexistence that creates opportunities for creative exchange. Artist Izabela Uchman composes pictures based on literary texts using Arabic calligraphy as a means of visual communication. Each work is an artistic record of coexistence between the meaning and aesthetic qualities of the words (closing 3 February).

Entrance of the Antiquities Museum B1 Level
“Abu Simbel: 200 Years After the Passing of Sheikh Ibrahim Burckhardt”, exhibition marks the 200th anniversary of the death of Swiss Orientalist Johann Ludwig Burckhardt—who discovered the Temple of Abu Simbel in Aswan—the BA Antiquities Museum organizes the exhibition, in cooperation with the Embassy of Switzerland, and the University of Basel in Switzerland. It showcases a number of plaques portraying the locations visited by Sheikh Ibrahim during his travels to Nubia, such as Philae, Abu Simbel, and Qasr Ibrim (closing13 February).
