is a retrospective exhibition of paintings by versatile artist Mustafa Al-Razzaz currently showing at Picasso gallery in Zamalek. Al-Razzaz is a painter, sculptor, printmaker, art critic, art consultant at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Professor of Design in the Faculty of Education, Helwan University and one of Egypt's distinguished artists. Born in Egypt in 1942, he received his BA and MA degrees from the Higher Institute of Art Education in 1965 and 1972 respectively, and his PhD from New York University in 1979. Moreover, he studied arts and crafts at University of Oslo, Norway in 1974. Al-Razzaz was the founder and Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Arts, Music and Media, served as president of the General Organization of Cultural Palaces in Egypt from 1997-99 and is currently President of the Egyptian Society of Folk Art. Following his first exhibition in 1966, Razzaz has held more than 100 local and international solo and group exhibitions in Egypt, other Arab countries, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America. For example, he participated in the first Baghdad Arab Biennale, Western New York Artists Exhibition, The United States of America, the Egyptian Contemporary Art Exhibition in BeijingChina, Paris Biennale, "Egypt Today" exhibition in the US, the Venice Biennale and in Axis Group in Asila, Morocco. In addition, he is a member of a number of prestigious art associations such as the Art Lovers Society, the Fine Artists Association, the Cairo Atelier Group of Artists and Writers, the committees of the Supreme Council of Culture and a founding member of the World Federation of the Critics (AICA). The exhibition will remain on view until 8 May.
