The Shelter Art+Photography Yamama Centre, Zamalek, Cairo, 11211 Sat 14,7pm: The international presentation of “Al Arwah” (The Spirits) is in Egypt by visual artist Karina Al Piaro.With its genesis in Egypt, “Al Arwah" is a visually immersive, meditative large scale trilogy shot on location in the Nile during the evolution of the Arab uprising. The event will present the installation and a conversation piece with the present living representatives of LEHNERT & LANDROCK, with the audience being invited interactively to participate in a Q & A opening, a dialogue concerning the preservation of Egypt's visual heritage photographically & future of photographic practice as an art genre in Egypt. The Aicha Makeba Project will present a performance. Makeba is one the most exciting contemporary emerging female independent artistes; the performance will celebrate a year in the evolution of her collaborative connection with Al Piaro.
