The Greek Campus 171 Tahrir St, Bab El Louk, Cairo, for tickets information call 16826 Hayy Festival 2015 (26 June-11 July) Sat 11, 9.30pm: Lebanese vocalist Oumeima Al-Khalilbegan her studies with Marcel Khalife. Their professional collaboration began in 1979, when he hired the 12 year-old Oumeima to perform a solo with his band Al Mayadin. In 1981, she was signed on to Khalife's US tour, where she performed in 16 different states. Her solo career began in 1994 with the release of her first album Khallini Ghannilak. Her song lyrics have been written by renowned Arab poets including Mahmoud Darwish, Badr Shakir Al-Sayyab, Mohamad Al-Abdallah. In addition to her work with Khalifa, Oumeima also works with musician Hani Siblini who will join her on stage for this concert. Her fifth and most recent albumMatar, released in 2014, was composed by Abdallah Al-Masri and recorded with The State Symphony Cappella of Russia, conducted by Valery Polyansky and Ramy Khalifa. Also, the EP will be available on CD at the concert. Hawas is an independent alternative Neo-Egyptian pop band creating unique sounds and stories through exploring and merging new dimensions of sound. The band consists of 8 musicians: Mahmoud Maher Al-Khateeb (Lead Vocal), Marwan Fawzi (Accordion & Midi Controller), Amir Rasmi (Keyboards) and Hisham Anas (Lute), they were all members of Maghna Khan band.
