TWO people were killed in Tuesday's sandtorm which lashed the capital. Car accidents increased, people with breathing problems were hospitalised and Cairo airport and five seaports in Suez were shut down as the sandstorm engufled much of the city. Two people died in the village of Atalia in the Nile Delta governorate of Menoufiya and eight others were injured after fire, attributed to the sandstorm, swept through the village. Cairo's International Airport closed for more than four hours when visibility fell below 100 metres. Incoming flights were diverted to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada.
