Here are a few basic pieces you definitely should consider investing in: Black and white clutch bag Opposite-coloured accessories are a huge trend this season, especially those in black and white. Velvet shoes Velvet shoes add a feminine and elegant touch to every look, particularly if you're trying for the trendy men's-wear look. Try pumps in crimson, emerald green, indigo blue or purple velvet. For the braver ones, go for animal print velvet shoes or jewelled heels. Gold Necklace Golden necklaces have taken on a new dimension this season. Chandelier earrings Classical chandelier earrings with crystals are designers' favourites this winter. Boyfriend shoes Mimicking menswear, those are a big trend for women this season — men's shoes are another popular choice. Choosing shoes in pastel colours is smart, as bold-coloured shoes are so many seasons ago. Classic scarf A classic scarf can go well with most of what you have in your closet. Geometric bracelet Geometric forms are extremely popular and you can find them on clothes, bags, shoes and jewellery this season. A good way to sport the trend is to wear a geometric bracelet. Grey ankle boots Ankle boots are another popular trend this season. Get yourself a pair of grey ankle booties. Not only are they ultra trendy, they also go well with everything. High-fashion backpack Backpacks have gone high fashion this winter; every designer has them in his collection. You should start looking for the perfect one.
