♣ For the fourth year in a row, Omar Samra's Right To Climb (RTC) initiative continues to help raise awareness and funds for the mentally disabled in Egypt, estimated at LE1 million until now. Kenya was this year's destination for Samra and a group of climbers who reached Mount Kenya, the second highest point on the African continent.
The six-day event brought together climbers from Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt working to raise awareness of and financial support for the mentally challenged through personal as well as professional networks.
Organised by Wild Guanabana, Samra's untraditional travel company, the RTC initiative was first launched in 2010. The RTC challenge will take place in 2014 during the next Eid, but the destination has not been decided yet. Interested people should find out more on https://www.facebook.com/right2climb.
