Schools closed in Aswan after tribal clashes
Prime minister orders the formation of a fact-finding committee into three days of tribal violence in Aswan that killed at least 23 people

Thirty-four schools have been closed in the El-Seel El-Refy area of Aswan following deadly tribal violence.
The decision was taken after three days of clashes between the Al-Halayel and Al-Dabodeya tribes killed at least 23 people.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab ordered the formation of a fact-finding committee into the violence, another to organise compensation for the victims, and a third to foster reconciliation between the tribes.
Mahlab and the ministers of interior and local development visited the area on Saturday afternoon.
They held various meetings with leading community figures and tribal leaders.
Defence Minister Sedky Sobhy ordered the injured be taken to armed forces hospitals.
At least 40 people were injured in the violence.
The situation in Aswan is being contained following the intervention of the army and the local executive authorities, army spokesperson Ahmed Ali said in a Facebook statement.
"There are signs the Muslim Brotherhood was involved in igniting the feud between the tribes," he added.
The interior ministry said the dispute was sparked on Wednesday when a woman was verbally harassed by men from another tribe. The resulting fight was broken up by police.
But according to Nubian activists, the clashes started on Thursday when a group of Nubian students were attacked by Al-Halayel tribesmen, killing four Nubians, including a woman. The clashes continued for two days until they were contained on Saturday afternoon.
