Case against Salafist figure Abu-Ismail adjourned to 12 April

Cairo Criminal Court adjourned to 12 April Saturday the case against Salafist figure Hazem Salah Abu-Ismail on charges of forging his mother's nationality in official documents.
Abu-Ismail was detained early July in the crackdown of interim authorities on Islamists following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi. He faces charges of inciting violence that led to the deaths of nine protesters in Giza.
Later Abu-Ismail was accused of forging his mother's nationality in official papers submitted to the Higher Electoral Commission in the 2012 presidential elections.
Abu-Ismail, a lawyer and Islamist figure with a wide following, was disqualified from the 2012 presidential race after reports that his mother held a US passport.
Egypt's election law bans candidates who either themselves or their parents carry any nationality other than Egyptian.
