Ex-Zamalek midfielder Ibrahim Salah denies Ahly move Influential midfielder Ibrahim Salah to rejoin former team Zamalek next summer on return from Saudi
Former Zamalek midfielder Ibrahim Salah has ruled out reports linking him with a move to Cairo giants Ahly when the summer transfer window reopens. Salah joined newly-promoted Saudi league side Al-Orouba for one year on a free transfer last summer, fleeing Zamalek's financial woes. The Pharaohs midfielder revealed that he will return to Egypt this summer to wear Zamalek's jersey again, denying any intention to play for Ahly when his current deal with the Saudi side expires. "I reached an agreement with Zamalek's management to rejoin the team next summer," Salah was quoted as saying by Saudi newspaper Al-Jamaheer. Reports in the Egyptian media claimed that Ahly are in talks with Ibrahim to join the Reds next summer but the player made it loud and clear that he will return to Zamalek again. Under the helm of coach Ahmed "Mido" Hossam, Zamalek have started to show signs of their old winning form, particularly after the team's performance in the CAF Champions League and Egyptian Premier League. Most of Zamalek's players decided to leave the team last season after failing to extend their contracts with the team due to the ongoing financial crisis within domestic football.
