Two militant groups claim responsibility for same attack in Egypt
Separate groups claim double bombing Friday that targeted a police vehicle and resulted in six injured

Two different militant groups have claimed the responsibility for the same double bombing on Friday that targeted a police vehicle on Giza Bridge in Cairo and resulted in the injury of six people.
The Associated Press reported that Ajnad Misr, Arabic for "Egypt's Soldiers," a newly formed militant group, claimed responsibility for the attacks. According to AP, the group posted a statement on Friday on a jihadi website declaring that the police "are not safe from retribution."
Ajnad Misr also claimed responsibility in previous weeks for similar bombings on police.
Concurrently, a Facebook page under the name Walaa', Arabic for "Burn," claimed responsibility for the same attack.
Walaa' states that it is a popular movement that aims to resist the oppressive state, adding that it has no political or religious affiliation.
Egypt has witnessed an upswing in terrorist attacks since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi. The attacks started in Sinai, where a power vaccum has long been in existence, targeting police and army personnel, and then extended to Cairo and its surrounding governorates.
Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, an Al-Qaeda offshoot, claimed responsibility for the Sinai attacks and most of the attacks in other governorates.
Morsi was ousted 3 July following mass protests demanding he leave office.
