Jose urges Ahly players to respect SuperSport Ahly's coach Manuel Jose warns his players to respect their South African hosts SuperSport United in the crucial game next Saturday
Ahly's coach Manuel Jose has urged his players to forget their recent win over South African SuperSport United when they take them on at Peter Mokaba stadium in the northern city Polokwane. Two weeks ago in Cairo, the Cairo giants built a 2-0 first-leg advantage to proceed in the CAF African Champions League round 16, but the Portuguese coach seems more cautious about his team. “You must respectyour opponent and forget about winning in the first-leg,” the 64-year old coach told his players after Wednesday's training session, according to the club's official website. “Football only gives to those who work in the pitch for the whole 90 minutes. “We will have a double mission, the first is ensuring our qualification for the next round and the second is to defend Egypt's reputation in the continental competitions,” added Jose. Defender Ayman Ashraf was the only absenteeat Wednesday's training as he has not totally recovered from his ankle injury. SuperSport striker Glen Salmon affirmed that his knee injury will sideline him again against Ahly, which represents a blow to Gavin Hunt's men, who have to win by three goals to progress to the next round.
