Giraffada (France, Germany, Italy, Palestine 2013)
Yacine is the veterinarian at the only remaining zoo in the Palestinian West Bank. He lives alone with his 10-year-old son, Ziad. The child has a special bond with the two giraffes at the zoo. He seems to be the only one able to communicate with them. After an air raid on the region the male giraffe dies. His mate, Rita, won't survive unless the veterinarian finds her a new companion. The only zoo that might provide this animal is located in Tel Aviv.

Uroki garmonii (Harmony Lessons) (Kazakhstan, Germany, France 2013)
Aslan, a 13-year-old boy living with his grandma, is a schoolboy in a crime-ridden village in Kazakhstan. Corruption and violence conflict drastically with his obsession for perfection. Aslan sees evil personified in school gang leader, Bolat, who humiliates him in front of his classmates and extorts money from other kids, beating them up severely. To rid his school of crime, Aslan decides to take action against Bolat.
