Unknown assailants shoot at police conscripts in the Suez Canal city of Port Said leaving one dead and another injured

A police conscript was killed and another injured on Tuesday in a drive-by armed attack by unknown assailants on a motorcycle in the Suez Canal city of Port Said.
The slain 21-year-old Mohamed Shaaban was shot in the stomach, while the injured Mohamed El-Shahat was shot in the arm and transferred to the Port Said Military Hospital.
Two deadly attacks hit Egypt on Monday in Ismailia and South Sinai.
Six Egyptian army personnel – one officer and five soldiers – were killed in an attack by gunmen on an army patrol near the Suez Canal city of Ismailia.
Shortly afterwards in the southern Sinai town of Al-Tor, two police conscripts were killed and 48 injured in a massive car bomb explosion targeting security headquarters.
Following Morsi's ouster on 3 July, several police stations across the country were attacked and militant activity increased in the restive Sinai Peninsula. Attacks have recently also begun to target the vicinity of the Suez Canal.
