Esperance coach promises 'offensive game' against Orlando Pirates Esperance boss says 'he is not coming to defend in South Africa' as he eyes a positive result against Orlando Pirates in the first leg of the Champions League semis
Esperance manager Maher Kanzari said on Wednesday his side will play an offensive game away to South Africa's Orlando Pirates in the Champions League semi-final first-leg. The Tunisian giants, who secured their place in the competition's semis after finishing on top of Group B with 15 points, will take on Orlando Pirates on Saturday in Johannesburg. "This is the nature of our game," Kanzari told CAF online on Wednesday. "Our success over the past years has been built around taking the game to our opponents. We believe in soccer's oldest adage that attacking is the best form of defence." "We are not going to sit back and allow Orlando Pirates to dictate pace on us. That type of soccer is against our culture of entertaining, attack and defend as a soccer unit." He added. Runner-up of the last edition, Esperance are looking to win their third Champions League title.
