Egyptian ambassador recalled from Tunisia praises UAE move
Both the UAE and Egypt have withdrawn their ambassadors to Tunisia after the Tunisian president's call for Mohamed Morsi's release

The Egyptian ambassador to Tunisia, Ayman Musharafa, was recalled to Cairo by the Egyptian government on Saturday after the Tunisian president demanded the release of deposed leader Mohamed Morsi, agency DPA reported.
The ambassador stated upon arrival in Cairo on Sunday that Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister Nabil Fahmy has recalled him for “discussions,” a measure, according to Musharafa, which represents a limited form of diplomatic protest.
Musharafa also stated that the “discussion” period is being decided by Fahmy, who will also decide the extent and nature of a resumed bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The ambassador praised the United Arabs Emirates (UAE) for also recalling its ambassador to Tunisia.
“UAE is a sister state [that] stood with Egypt and supported it. This is not strange to the children of Sheikh Zayed, who always stood next to Egypt in all circumstances, as Egypt stood with her sister Gulf States,” he said.
In an address to the UN General Assembly last week, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki had called on Egypt's new rulers to release former president Morsi, who has been detained at a secret location since the military deposed him on 3 July amid mass nationwide protests against his rule.
