VIDEO: Egypt's Salah continues his impressive streak with Basel Egypt striker scores his second goal with Basel in the 2013-2014 Swiss league on Saturday
Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah continued his impressive streak for the second consecutive season after scoring in Basel's 2-2 draw with Sion in the Swiss League on Saturday. The 21 year-old forward scored Basel's second goal in the 65th minute. Sion snatched the lead two minutes after the start by their striker Vilmos Vanczak, then Basel's Stocker scored the equaliser ten minutes before Salah netted the second goal. Ebenezer Assifuah pulled the game back and scored the equaliser for Sion during injury time. Salah, who joined Basel last season from Egypt's Arab Contractors, was heavily praised for his performance after helping the team to win the Swiss League title last season. It's the second goal for Salah this season with Basel in the Swiss league, as he scored during the 3-1 win over FC Aarau in the league opener last July. His impressive form in Switzerland has fuelled speculation that he could leave Basel for another challenge, as more high flying European teams are reportedly chasing the Egyptian forward. Fellow Egyptian international mid-fielder Mohamed El-Neny, who signed a permanent contract with Basel last summer after his loan deal with the club finished at the end of the season, watched the 2-2 win over Sion from the bench.
