63 pro-Morsi protesters referred to Alexandria criminal court
Egypt's prosecutors refer 63 pro-Morsi protesters to a criminal court over second city violence, including an Islamist who threw teenage boy off rooftop

Egypt's Prosecutor-General Hesham Barakat referred on Monday 63 supporters of Egypt's deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi to a criminal court in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, judicial sources said.
The defendants stand accused of a raft of charges over deadly clashes between rival protesters in Alexandria two days after Morsi's overthrow on 3 July. These include murder, attempted murder, violence and possession of arms during protests.
The defendants include Mahmoud Hassan Ramadan, an Islamist who was caught on camera throwing a teenage boy off a rooftop and waving an Al-Qaeda banner in Alexandria's Sidi Gaber district, according to a statement by Egypt's public prosecution office.
A video of the incident – which went viral online – shows a mob cornering four teenage boys on top of a water tank then throwing two of them from the six-metre-high ledge.
Hundreds of followers of the Muslim Brotherhood, from which the deposed president emerged, have been rounded up during days of bloody violence in several parts of the country following a crackdown on Islamists. The movement has also been reeling from a flurry of arrests amongst its upper echelon.
