163 alleged Morsi supporters charged for Sidi Gaber deaths

Egypt's Prosecutor-General Hisham Barakat referred 163 alleged supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi to an Alexandria criminal court on Wednesday for the killing of 29 persons in August 2013.
The 163 defendants are accused of killing 29 persons and the attempted murder of another three citizens in Alexandria on 16 August 2013 in what is known in the media as the Sidi Gaber massacre.
At least 60 people died in the Alexandria clashes, as part of nationwide violence following the bloody dispersal of two pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo on 14 August.
