Egypt calls up 9 foreign-based players for Guinea clash
Bob Bradley selects Amr Zaki for training camp ahead of World Cup qualifier against Guinea
Published in Ahram Online on 25 - 08 - 2013

Bob Bradley has called up 9 foreign-based players for a training camp before Egypt's World Cup qualifier against Guinea on 10 September.
The squad witnessed a return for striker Amr Zaki, who is currently playing for Kuwaiti side Al-Salmiya SC after a long spell as a free agent.
Former Zamalek and Wigan striker Zaki, who was released by Turkish side Elazigspor last January, was not included in recent squads because he had not played with a club since February.
Zaki made his debut for Egypt's senior team in 2004, guiding them to victory in the African Nations Cup in 2006 and 2008.
Under the helm of American coach Bob Bradley, Egypt will start a closed camp on 1 September to prepare for the Guinea encounter.
The 9 foreign-based players:
Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City-England)
Adam El-Abd (Brighton-England)
Mohamed Salah (BaselSwitzerland)
Mohamed El-Neny (Basel - Switzerland)
Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim "Kahraba" (Luzern - Switzerland)
Hossam Ghaly (Lierse – Belgium)
Ahmed Hassan "Koka" (Rio Ave FC - Portugal)
Amr Zaki (Al-Salmiya SC - Kuwait)
Ibrahim Salah (Al-Oroba – Saudi Arabia)
The Pharaohs - who topped Group G and secured their place in the final qualifying round of the African qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil - are scheduled to play their last round against Guinea on 10 September.
The holders of three successive African Cup of Nations Cups, 2006 and 2008 and 2010, Egypt are bidding for their first qualification ticket to the most prestigious tournament since 1990.
The African draw for the final round, featuring the 10 group winners, will be made on 16 September in Cairo.
