Arsenal's Oxlade-Chamberlain out for 6 weeks Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain faces at least six weeks on the sidelines due to a posterior cruciate problem
Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out for at least six weeks, dealing a blow to the team's early-season hopes. The England international injured his left knee in Arsenal's Premier League opener on Saturday which ended in a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa. Manager Arsene Wenger says Oxlade-Chamberlain has a posterior cruciate problem — "a ligament which is stretched"— but he is not expected to require surgery. Wenger was speaking ahead of the first leg of Arsenal's Champions League playoff against Fenerbache on Wednesday in Istanbul. Oxlade-Chamberlain can expect to miss England's key World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine next month.
