Son of Brotherhood Supreme Guide dies in Cairo clashes
Brotherhood says Ammar Badie (38) the middle son of their Supreme Guide was protesting at Al-Fath Mosque and was killed on Friday in clashes
Published in Ahram Online on 17 - 08 - 2013

The son of Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt's Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie has been killed in the Cairo violence on Friday, sources at the Brotherhood's Supreme Guidance office tell Ahram Online.
The Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) website also reported the news, however details of his death remain unconfirmed.
Ammar Badie (38) was reportedly protesting at Al-Fath Mosque in Ramses Square, downtown Cairo. Demonstrations quickly developed into violence in the area as clashes erupted between protesters on one side and residents or police forces in the other. Hundreds of demonstrators were trapped overnight in Al-Fath Mosque.
Thousands of Brotherhood loyalists had taken the streets in what they called the "Friday of Rage" against the police's deadly crackdown on their two major Cairo sit-ins on Wednesday, which left over 600 dead and thousands injured.
The deceased is Badei's middle son. He was a computer engineer and leaves behind a wife and two children.
Egypt's general-prosecution issued several arrest warrants in the past month for Badie on charges of inciting violence and clashes with security forces or Brotherhood opponents in previous protests.
On Wednesday, Asmaa El-Beltagy (17), daughter of Brotherhood leading member Mohamed El-Beltagy, was killed in violence as the police dispersed the sit-in at Rabaa Al-Adawiya Mosque in Cairo's Nasr City district.
The Brotherhood have been protesting for over six weeks calling for the reinstatement of president Mohamed Morsi, who was deposed by the army on 3 July amid mass demonstrations against him.
