Minister of Tourism, Mounir Fakhry, said today at a conference in Moscow that tourism in Egypt is gradually returning to normal. Hurghada airport has been receiving 58 planes per day, which represents its normal rate, and tourist ships are arriving regularly at Safaga and other ports in the Red Sea. The Minister added that Egypt will become more appealing to tourists because of the current circumstances and the positive changes it is witnessing. He added that he has met with several tourism companies during his visit to Russia and that they showed great interest in supporting Egypt's tourism industry. Fakhry also stressed that all countries have lifted their warnings against travelling to Egypt except the USA and Australia. Investments will be further encouraged in Egypt the more democratization efforts materialize, according to Fakhry. He added that attacks targeting Egyptian churchs recently are only part of failed efforts to halt Egypt's process of reform.
