Egyptian football club Ahly, Africa's reigning champions, has announced on its official website that it has officially signed a 5-year contract with rival Tamale's former left-back Sabri Rahil. Financial details were not disclosed. "Rahil will join Ahly's training after the game against Zamalek in the CAF Champions League on Wednesday, as he signed a 5-year contract with the team, read a statement on the club's official website on Saturday. Ahly are preparing to face Zamalek in the group stage opener of the CAF Champions League on Wednesday in Gouna stadium. The 25-year old refused to extend his stay with Zamalek after his contract expired last June. "I am happy to wear the Reds' jersey and it's an honor for me to join Ahly," Rahil told the club's website after the signature in the team's headquarters. "Ahly are the best team in Africa, as well as the team who have the most trophies under their belt so it is a big adventure to join them," The Cairo giants have two players Sayed Mowad and Ahmed Shedid, who currently play in Rahil's position in the left back area. "I admire Mowad and Shedid while I amd ready to compete with them to book a regular place in the team's squad," Rahil concluded.
