Pro Helvetia offers residence in Switzerland to two Egyptian artists
Mohamed El-Hagrasy and Ahmad Elsawy will each use three-month studio residencies in Switzerland to further their respective arts, in exchange with European counterparts

Actor and director Mohamed El-Hagrasy and composer, director and singer Ahmad Elsawy won a three-month studio residency offered periodically by Pro Helvetia, a Swiss art council fostering cultural interaction between Switzerland and other countries, including Egypt.
A three-month studio residency offered by Pro Helvetia is an opportunity for artists and cultural practitioners to explore artistic activity beyond the regional level, initiate dynamic networking, and enable further exchanges.
According to Pro Helvetia's website, the aim of the residency is to prepare an exchange project.
Mohamed El-Hagrasy is an actor, director and acting trainer at the Theatrical Arts Institute operating under the Academy of Arts in Alexandria, Egypt. His residency in Switzeland will cover the period 3 July to 30 September and aims to increase El-Hagrasy's familiarity with the European theatrical movement.
Ahmad Elsawy is a composer, director and singer. He will be working on his multimedia project, "White Revolution." According to Pro Helvetia, Elsawy hopes to work with Swiss artists to narrate the events of white revolutions around the world, and to present different perspectives of these revolutions.
