The Egyptian national team arrived Thursday morning in Zimbabwe ahead of their clash in the African qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. "The team will be having two training sessions a day in Harare (Zimbabwe's capital) until they play on 9 June," Pharaohs director Samir Adly told Ahram Sports. "They will be staying in Harare two days after the match before heading to Mabote to meet Mozambique on 16 June," Adly added. Led by American manager Bob Bradley, with assistance from Diaa El-Sayed and Zaki Abdel-Fattah, the Egyptian delegation is accompanied by Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Vice President Hassan Farid. Aiming for their first ticket to the prestigious tournament since 1990, Egypt are leading Group G of the African qualifiers, five points clear of second-placed Guinea, while Mozambique lie third with two points, one ahead of bottom side Zimbabwe. After Tuesday's 1-1 friendly draw against Botswana,Bradley decided to exclude midfielder Tareq Hamed (Smouha), defender Hazem Emam (Zamalek), Walid Soliman (Ahly), Ayman Hefny (El-Geish) and defender Ali Ghazal (C D Nacional) from the squad.
