Cairo giants win 14th handball league title Friday, raising team's hopes for another Egypt Cup victory

The Ahly handball team are hoping to realise another Egypt Cup success after winning the league title late on Friday.
The Red Devils clinched their 14thleague title after beating Smouha 24-21 in the tournament final.
Ahly, who recently snatched theAfrican Handball Winners' Cup,ended the Egyptian handball league at the top of the table with 36 points – eight ahead of rivals Zamalek who ended at fifth place.
Hoping for a second victory, Ahly players will be in a must-win situation when they face El-Shorta next Monday in the Egypt Cup semifinal.
