Zamalek to kick-off Egypt Cup bid against Tersana Egypt Cup draw on Sunday did not include Ahly and five other clubs who withdrew from tournament over sponsorship dispute
Zamalek will open their bid for the Egypt Cup against Tersana in the round of 32 on 21 May. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) held the cup draw on Sunday after six top-flight clubs withdrew from the country's second biggest tournament over a sponsorship dispute. The six clubs to withdraw are Ahly, Haras El-Hodoud, Ittihad El-Shorta, Beni Suef Telephones, Arab Contractors and El-Dakhleya. Ismaily will face the winner of Al-Wasta verses Markaz Badr, while Ittihad of Alexandria will play either Baladyet El-Mahallah or Kafr Saqr. Ahly have won a record 35 cup trophies. Archrivals Zamalek have won 21. Haras El-Hodoud won in 2009 and 2010 while ENPPI snatched the trophy in 2011.
