Algeria offers to replace Libya as CAF U-20 host
Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa and Algeria interested in hosting March African Nations U-20 Championship in place of original host, Libya

Algerian Football Federation (AFF) president, Mohamed Raouraoua, offers to host the African under-20 championship set to be played in Libya due to the current unrest there.
“We can switch events with Libya by hosting the coming African championship and let them hold the 2013 edition that is scheduled to be played in Algeria” the new FIFA executive committee member told the Algerian News Agency.
The CAF U-20 championship is scheduled to be played in Libya from 18 March to 1 April, but there are serious concerns about how capable Libya is able to organise it as protests have stormed many cities.
The Confederation of African Football's (CAF) executive committee will meet within the week to make a final decision on the issue.
“We still have to sit and talk about it. In the meantime we hope to see peace, not only in Libya, but in the whole continent,” CAF President, Issa Hayatou said at a press conference on Friday.
African media reports have claimed that Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa have also announced their interest in hosting the championship.
“We will sit as the CAF executive [committee] and study the options and see which country will replace Libya.” Hayatou added.
