Egypt considers hosting 2013 Africa Cup of Nations
With Libya's security situation critical, Egypt may make a bid to host the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournament

The president of Egyptian Football Association (EFA), Samir Zaher, may request that Prime Minister Essam Sharaf make a bid for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (ACN).
“The idea is being discussed at the association with security in the country restored and the resumption of the domestic competition,” a member of the EFA board was quoted as saying on Al-Ahram Portal.
The 2013 African Cup of Nations had been arranged to take place in Libya, but there are now serious concerns that Libya will be unable to organize it due to the unstable security situation resulting from the anti-Muammar Gaddafi regime uprising.
"We are discussing moving the championship to another country," the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stated on Saturday.
The 2013 edition of the continental national teams' competition is the first odd-number years tournament after the CAF decided to reschedule it last year to avoid holding it in the same year as the World Cup.
CAF moved the 2011 African Youth Championship, which was scheduled to be played in Libya, to South Africa because of the current events in the host country.
