Egypt will reopen the Rafah crossing into the Gaza Strip on Tuesday for 48 hours. The crossing will reopen for two days for 300 passengers a day," said Egyptian state TV. The Rafah crossing, the only one into Gaza that is not controlled by Israel, has been closed since January 30, amid mass protests against Mubarak, who was ousted 11 February. Thousands of Palestinians, including patients seeking medical treatment and students, have been trapped in Egypt since the crossing was closed.
