No reported deaths at clashes which began on Monday during protest to commemorate last year's Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes; independent reports puts numbers higher; a protester is reportedly clinically dead Forty-three people have been injured since Tuesday at ongoing clashes in downtown Cairo, the health ministry said on Wednesday. There have been no reported deaths, according to the ministry. The injured have been taken to Mounira Hospital, Hussein University Hospital, Qasr Al-Aini Hospital and Agouza Police Hospital. The injuries include cuts, bruises and pellet wounds. Clashes erupted on Monday during a demonstration to commemorate last year's Mohamed Mahmoud Street victims and continued through Tuesday night in Mohamed Mahmoud Street and nearby Qasr El-Aini Street, which remained closed to traffic on Wednesday morning. Police and protesters exchanged stones. Police used tear gas and (reportedly) rubber bullets, while protesters threw Molotov cocktails. Two members of the 6 April Youth Movement were seriously injured in the past 24 hours. One of them, Mohamed Gaber, has been on life support and friends say he is clinically dead.
