Breaking: Egyptian Premier League season to start in December
Decision to start league season in December comes after meeting between Sports Minister El-Amry Farouk and Interior Minister Ahmed Gamaleddin

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced that the Egyptian Premier League season will begin in December.
The decision was made after a meeting between Sports Minister El-Amry Farouk and Interior Minister Ahmed Gamaleddin.
"The interior minister promised to hold another meeting within ten days to announce that the Egyptian Premier League will start at the beginning of December," read a statement on the EFA's official website on Thursday.
"The Egyptian Premier League season will start soon," Sports Minister Farouk told reporters after the meeting with the interior minister.
"We are thinking of dividing the league into two groups like in Tunisia," he added.
"Ahly will be in charge of one group while Zamalek will top the other one.
"We are discussing how to reduce the number of teams in the 2012-2013 season to minimise fan attendance," El-Amry Farouk said.
All domestic football activity has been suspended since February when scores of spectators died in clashes between rival fans in the Port Said Stadium.
The new league season was due to start on 17 October, but the EFA said it would not be able to hold the competition, citing a lack of response from the interior ministry.
Ahly's die-hard fans – 'Ultras Ahlawy' – have said more than once that they would stop the resumption of football activity unless the perpetrators of the Port Said disaster were brought to justice.
