Morsi to meet Coptic families in Sinai The president will meet some of the families who were forced to flee Rafah after anti-Coptic violence and threats
President Mohamed Morsi is planning to visit Coptic families, who formerly lived in Rafah, in Al-Arish today after Friday prayers, according to the President's official Facebook page. This visit comes as part of his visit to northern Sinai, where Morsi is planning to meet with the governor. In September, nine Christian families fled the town of Rafah in northern Sinai after receiving death threats from apparent Islamist militants, following attacks on a Coptic-owned shop. In July, a Muslim mob torched Christian homes and shops and damaged the local church in the village of Dahshour south of Cairo, forcing many Coptic families to flee the village. The violence was sparked when a personal dispute swelled into violence and a Muslim man died.
