Ghana's Clottey fears Ahly's visit Berekum Chelsea striker fears of facing Ahly on Sunday as he is eager to break the CAF Champions league goal record set in 2007
Berekum Chelsea Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Clottey has revealed that he is worried about the Ahly game next Sunday as the Cairo Giants could stand in the way of his goal of breaking Stephen Worgu's 13-goals record set in 2008 after netting 12 times in 8 matches for the Ghanaian side. “I have a lot of pressure on me but as a footballer. It's our job so when you are about to go onto the field, you have to cool down and do what you have set your mind on to do. I know God is going to help me to break that record,” Clottey was quoted as saying on ghanasoccernet on Thursday. The 24-year-old attacker has performed well in the CAF Champions League this season, scoring 12 goals to emerge as the tournament's leading marksman and bringing him near equalling Stephen Worgu's 13-goal haul in 2007. The Berekum-based club are working to beat the record-holders to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League after they were hammered 4-1 in Cairo two weeks ago. “When we went there, the referee was not on our side, they did a lot of things to frustrate us. We managed but didn't succeed. But I think in Ghana, we are going to succeed,” the Ghanaian player added. Clottey put in heroic performances during the past three games in the champions league group stages, as he scoring a hat-trick in the group B opener against Zamalek, helping his team to a difficult 3-2 win, before hitting a brace against TP Mazembe.
