Zamalek are ready to pay $1million to sign Ghanaian hotshot Emmanuel Clottey from Berekum Chelsea, board member Ibrahim Youssef revealed. Clottey, 24, stunned Zamalek with a virtuoso performance in this month's Champions League meeting in Accra, scoring all his side's goals in the dramatic 3-2 win. The Ghana international immediately caught the eye of many top clubs including Zamalek, who have just lost Benin striker Razak Omotoyossi due to unpaid wages. “We are ready to pay $1m to the club and a half million dollars every year for Emmanuel Clottey," Zamalek board member Youssef, the elder brother of assistant coach Ismail, told Kumasi-based Angel FM. “He is a good player and he scored three against us. So I will be discussing with the Board and I am sure we will make the offer." It remains to be seen whether the Cairo giants will sustain their pursuit for Clottey or not, given the severe financial problems they have been encountering of late. According to Ghanaian reports, Chelsea are likely to be asking for more than $1million to let go of their top marksman.
