Jordanian musician Hana Malhas will share the Bikya Maadi stage with Egypt's Sherine Amr on Wednesday, 8 August. The event will kick-off Hana Malhas's debut tour in Cairo. Jordanian-born and a graduate of the University of Michigan, Hana Malhas describes her music as indie-folk pop. Although her academic background leads her today towards a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Malhas has training in classical music and has been composing songs on piano and guitar for a number of years. Sherine Amr will open the evening with Arabic pop songs, followed by Malhas' acoustic/indie infusions from Jordan. Amr is an Egyptian vocalist and guitarist whose first on stage steps were with metal group Mascara, and who soon moved to acoustic music with a new band called The Other Side of Mascara. On Friday, Malhas will be performing with Egyptian acoustic musician Hany Mustafa at El-Sawy Culturweheel in Zamalek, Cairo.
