Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has registered midfielder Ahmed Shokry in the local squad, and it is likely he will be included in the African squad soon. According to the club's official website, the Egyptian champions need the efforts of the skillful youngster in the upcoming matches. Shokry will be the fifth player to be registered continentally recently, after the Reds this month took on goalkeeper Mahmoud Abou El-Saoud, winger Ahmed Sedik, forward Oussou Konan and Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet," and they still have two empty places. Earlier this month, the 22-year-old player had reportedly threatened to leave the Red Castle if he missed the African squad. The Cairo giants face a difficult game against bitter rivals Zamalek in their second round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League after defeating DR Congo's TP Mazembe 2-1 last weekend.
