Ahly have announced the signing of Mozambican attacking midfielder Luis Miquissone on a four-year contract coming from Simba SC of Tanzania to become the Reds' second signing player during the summer transfer window. "Ahly concluded the deal with Luis Miquissone who arrived in Cairo in the past 24 hours and he is ready to take part in the team's training sessions," read a statement released on Ahly's official website. The 26-year-old Miquissone came under spotlight when he joined Mamelodi Sundowns FC of South Africa in the 2018 season coming from UD Songo of Mozambique then he spent a short period on loan with minor African teams before joining Simba SC in the January transfer window of 2020 season. Miquissone helped Simba SC to reach the quarterfinals of the last edition of the African Champions League as he scored three goals and provided three assists in 12 appearances with Tanzanian team. It's the second signing for Ahly during the summer transfer window as they announced the arrival of Nogoom FC defender Karim Fouad on a five-year contract earlier on Thursday. Reports in the Egyptian media claimed that the Red Devils are close to announcing the signing of South African left-winger Percy Tau from English Premier league side Brighton as part of preparations for the start of the new season. Ahly won the 2021 African Champions League title and 2020 African Super Cup as well as finishing third in the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup, but they lost the domestic Egyptian Premier League title to arch-rivals Zamalek during the final phases of the tournament that will wrap up this weekend.
