Egypt's Ministry of International Cooperation has announced that it will launch the 'Egypt - International Cooperation Forum (ICF): Engaging for Impact' on 8 September over two days, under the patronage of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, with high-level international and regional participation. The forum is bringing together the global community to streamline efforts to ensure a better tomorrow and to identify the parameters of sustainable recovery. The hybrid forum will take place with the participation of several economic and social institutions as well as bilateral and multilateral development partners, including the United Nations, the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. This is in addition to the presence of African, Asian, and Latin American ministers and policy makers, presidents of international financial institutions, bilateral and multilateral development partners, think tanks, the private sector, and international and regional research centres. Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat said that the forum marks Egypt's first international cooperation and development financing forum, reflecting the country's leading role in international cooperation amid global and regional stakeholders. She elaborated that holding the forum reflects President El-Sisi's trust and belief in unifying efforts to achieve inclusive and sustainable development for all, especially in transitional and developing economies, which in turn reflects Egypt's efforts towards pushing for development cooperation in a harmonized manner. "The forum underscores the importance of harnessing opportunities and deepening partnerships in order to achieve sustainable development, which opens the door for a strengthened dialogue between countries, financing institutions, and development partners. The two-day forum shall highlight the significance of multilateralism, with an emphasis on Egypt's ownership for 'building back better' in transitional and developing economies," according to the minister.
