EFA slaps Zamalek with transfer ban Egypt's Zamalek loses right to register new players for next season until they meet their financial obligations to former players
Zamalek will not be able to register their new-signings with the team squad next season after the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) imposed a transfer ban on the club due to the latter's failure to fulfil their financial obligations to former players. Former Zamalek players Ayman Abdel-Aziz, Mohamed Abdel-Monsef, Hassan Mostafa, Sherif Ashraf, Ahmed Magdy and Sayed Mossad have all lodged complaints against the club to claim unpaid contractual obligations salaries. Zamalek on Tuesday signed Burkinabe striker Abdoulaye Cisse, and they're on the verge of signing severalother promising players in hopes of bolstering their squad in preparation for upcoming CAF Champions' League group stages. According to the EFA's official website, ten other clubs have also been sanctioned, including Egyptian Premier League sides Arab Contractors, Ghazl El-Mahala, Smouha and El-Entag El-Harby.
